WORDS in PROGRESS

Product overview

Words in Progress is available in different versions. Both the regular and the CLIL and IB version are available in workbook format (A4 size) or smaller (17×24 cm). In the latter case, the larger gaps for the words left blank are replaced by smaller horizontal ellipses, which means that students have to write down their answers in a notebook rather than writing directly in the workbook.

Words in Progress - Workbook

Words in Progress - Workbook

For students in their final three years of pre-university education with the aim of preparing them for the national exam in English reading comprehension (50% of the final mark). Most sentences come from contemporary newspaper articles: modern English about modern topics. Words in Progress contains the vocabulary found in the most recent English exam wordlist used in Dutch secondary education and meets the requirements of the European Framework of Reference for Languages (C1 level).

This fourth, enlarged edition (2021) has two glossaries in the back: one English-Dutch for regular pre-university education and one English-English suitable for CLIL/IB education. This version replaces the old Workbook for regular pre-university education and the Workbook for CLIL/IB. The exercises are otherwise the same as in these previous editions of Words in Progress for vwo students; some errors have been corrected.
